The Ultimate Canada Bucket List: 6 Amazing Things to Do in Canada

Canada is a huge country with plenty of bucket-list worthy things to do. From the stunning Rocky Mountains in the west to the sandy beaches of Prince Edward Island in the east, Canada has something for everyone. If you’re looking for an action-packed holiday or a relaxing getaway, Canada has it all. In this article, we will explore 6 of the best things to do in Canada. So pack your bags and get ready for an adventure!

Soar over Niagara Falls in a helicopter

Number one on our Canada bucket list is a visit to Niagara Falls. This natural wonder is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Canada. The falls are located on the border between Canada and the United States, and they offer a stunning view of the Niagara River. There are several ways to experience the falls, including taking a boat tour or walking along the Maid of the Mist trail. However, for the wow factor a helicopter trip over Niagara falls has got to be bucket list worthy. You’ll get to soar over the dramatic Whirlpool Rapids, pass over the legendary Rainbow Bridge, and will get an amazing birds eye view of America and Horseshoe Falls.

Go horseback riding with the cowboys in Calgary

If you’re looking for a unique experience, then head to Calgary where you can go horseback riding with the cowboys and cowgirls. The city is located in the heart of Alberta’s cowboy country and is home to the world-famous Calgary Stampede. This huge annual event in July is renowned for its rodeos and bareback rodeos and chuckwagon races. During your stay in Calgary, be sure to visit one of the many nearby ranches where you can go on a trail ride or even help out with the cattle drive. It’s an experience for all the senses and on the travel bucket list for many.

Take a road trip along Canada’s iconic highways

Canada is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, so it’s no wonder that road trips are popular here. There are several iconic highways that offer stunning views of mountains, lakes , and forests. The Trans-Canada Highway is the longest highway in Canada and stretches for over 5,000 miles from coast to coast. Other popular road trip routes include the Sea-to-Sky Highway in British Columbia, which takes you from Vancouver to Whistler, and the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, which winds its way through Cape Breton Island. So get your camera ready and hit the open road!

Meet polar bears in Churchill

Churchill, Manitoba is known as the “Polar Bear Capital of the World” and for good reason. Every October, hundreds of polar bears congregate in the area as they wait for the Hudson Bay to freeze over. You can see the polar bears up close on a tundra buggy tour (don’t worry they are certified as bear proof!) or from the safety of a glass-enclosed observation deck. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a beluga whale or arctic fox. Churchill is also a great place to see the Northern Lights, so be sure to add it to your Canada bucket list!

Go whale watching in Tofino

Tofino, located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, is one of the best places in Canada to go whale watching. The waters around Tofino are home to orcas, humpback whales, and sea lions. There are several companies that offer boat tours, and you can even go on a kayaking or surfing adventure. If you’re not into getting wet, you can also spot whales from the land at several lookout points along the coast. Tofino is also a resort town which is paradise for outdoorsy types, with year-round beach biking, surfing and even storm watching.

Walk on a glacier in the Canadian Rockies

The Canadian Rockies are home to some of the most stunning scenery in Canada, and there are several glaciers you can visit. The most popular is the Columbia Icefield, which is located in Banff National Park. You can take a tour on an ice Explorer vehicle or even walk on the glacier itself with a certified guide. Other glaciers in the area include the Peyto Glacier, which can be seen from a lookout point along the Bow Valley Parkway.

We love the Athabasca Glacier, which is easily accessible from the Trans-Canada Highway. Here, you’ll get to walk on and drink from (!) the glacier. You get to experience the architectural masterpiece of the Glacier Skywalk, which sticks out over the edge of a steep cliff. Step out onto the glass floor, peer between your hiking boots at the plunging waterfalls of Sunwapta Canyon, a 280-metre drop below…and try to be brave!

So there you have it – our ultimate Canada bucket list! We hope this has inspired you to start planning your next Canadian adventure.
